Synergy returns to the Fulton community

The City and School Synergy program began preparations for Spring 2026 cleanups this month, with community and student leaders meeting together at North Bay Campground and Canal Park. The Class of 2030 will meet this upcoming month to select a new park project of their own!

GRB singers welcome distinguished guest

Dr. Wesley Roy of SUNY Potsdam recently visited GRB choral students in Ms. Beaton's classroom to discuss the possibilities of a career in music and flex their outstanding musical skills! Thanks for joining us for the day, Dr. Roy!

"Look at Me, I'm Three" program begins

FCSD recently partnered with Oswego County Community Schools and CiTi BOCES to present the first "Look at Me, I'm Three!" program for three-year-olds in the Fulton community. Events focus on school readiness through hands-on activities. More events are scheduled for December, January, March, April and May so be on the lookout for more information!

Elementary report cards go digital

Paper report cards for elementary students will no longer be distributed. Just like at FJHS and GRB, parents can now expect digital report cards distributed through SchoolTool and ParentSquare. Struggling to access these apps? Reach out to your child's school!

Attendance Matters!

The Fulton City School District is committed to positive engagement and open communication with our families and students to ensure every student achieves success. We know that regular attendance is essential for your student’s academic and social well-being. We seek your partnership in promoting regular full-day attendance in school for your children whenever they are healthy enough to attend.

Please be advised that on November 10, 2025, attendance letter communication will be sent via Parent Square to families of students who had 4 or more absences in the first 10 weeks of school (through 10/31/25).  This specific threshold is significant because FCSD policy guides us to monitor student attendance and initiate interventions when a student's attendance rate falls below our expected 91% rate within a 10-week period. The November 10 attendance letter communication is one example of a universal intervention.

Chronic absenteeism, defined as missing 10% or more of possible days, has been shown to negatively impact school performance, potentially resulting in gaps in reading skills, failure to meet grade level learning standards and lower job readiness skills.

We recognize in the Fulton City School District that the root causes of chronic absenteeism are vast and complex. Our purpose in providing attendance notification is to ensure communication of your child’s attendance record. Additionally, it is our hope to partner with families to help identify the cause(s) of absenteeism and reduce its impact on student learning and development.

If you have any questions or concerns related to your child’s attendance, please contact their classroom teacher, school counselor, school-home liaison and/or building principal.

Thank you for your partnership in ensuring your student's success!

FCSD SOARS

This year, FCSD students and staff will work together to SOAR in the classroom and beyond. Our Red Dragons will be able to show:

  • SELF CONTROL: Red Dragons show self-control by making thoughtful choices -- even when it’s hard. Whether it’s staying calm during a disagreement or waiting their turn, Fulton students rise above challenges with focus and maturity.

  • ON-TASK BEHAVIOR: Fulton Red Dragons stay on-task by staying focused and giving their best effort during learning time. They avoid distractions, follow directions, and keep their minds set on reaching their goals—showing the true determination of a Red Dragon.

  • ACHIEVEMENT: Achievement for a Red Dragon means setting goals and working hard to reach them. Whether it's mastering a new math skill or helping a classmate, Fulton students celebrate progress and push themselves to be their best.

  • RESPECT: Red Dragons lead with respect by treating everyone—classmates, teachers, and themselves—with kindness and dignity. In the Fulton City School District, respect fuels a positive, inclusive environment where all can thrive.
