GRB to Host Trade Union and Contractor Community Job Fair

Fulton’s G. Ray Bodley High School will be hosting a Trade Union and Contractor Community Job Fair on November 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will bring in representatives from more than a dozen local contractors and trade unions to meet with community members and students.

“This isn’t just a high school job fair,” said Angela Ferlito, the school’s Work-based Learning Coordinator and one of the organizers of the evening. “This is a community event.”

Attendees can expect tables and representatives from a number of local businesses, organizations, and unions, including Fulton City School District itself. Oswego County Workforce New York will also be in attendance, assisting participants in finding success in the local job hunt.

While the event will offer opportunities for information and networking, visitors can also expect to find real possibilities for employment, apprenticeships, and union membership. Some organizations will even be conducting small-scale interviews.

The evening is sponsored heavily by FCSD’s District Family and Community Engagement Taskforce, which works to improve upon and expand the district’s collaboration with families and the community. They hope that with the success of this upcoming event, similar nights can be planned in the future.
