G. Ray Bodley High School is thrilled to announce its fall production of 12 Angry Jurors, a courtroom drama based on the movie Twelve Angry Men. A proud collaboration of dozens of talented students and staff, the show promises an exciting community performance.

The show is set in a deliberation room where a jury of individuals discuss evidence to determine if a young man is guilty of murdering his father. The rich characters, intriguing storyline and dramatic content were attractive to both students and participating staff, whose fall plays have favored comedies and farces over the past several years.

Fourteen students act in the drama, with another five behind the scenes as student tech crew. This year’s show stars many individuals new to the fall play and Quirk’s Players, GRB’s student theater troupe.

“This is truly an ensemble production,” said Tom Briggs, an FCSD teacher and the show’s producer. “Most of the cast members are onstage for the entire show. They’ve done a great job of developing their characters and allowing them to interact with the others in the story. It’s been rewarding to see how well the cast has worked together.”

Along with Briggs, teacher Rob Lescarbeau directs the production while technology teacher Nick Duval assists with set and scenery construction. Doreen Kelly – a teacher at Fairgrieve Elementary – coordinates costumes.

“Our students have worked very hard,” noted Briggs, “and I believe the community will be proud of them.”

Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28. The play is held at GRB High School Auditorium and tickets are available both online and at the door.
