FULTON, NY – Three Fulton City School District student musicians have been chosen to participate in the 2020 New York State School Music Association All-State Performing Ensemble.

The students, all of whom are seniors G. Ray Bodley High School, include double bassist Sidney Bradshaw, oboist Olivia Hawthorne, and trumpeter Anthony Lucas. Bradshaw and Lucas have been respectively assigned to string orchestra and symphonic band, while Hawthorne has been chosen as an alternate player.

“I am extremely proud of each of these talented students for their years of dedication, hard work and countless hours spent perfecting their skills,” G. Ray Bodley Band Director Terry Caviness said. “NYSSMA is one of the highest honors for which students can be selected to showcase their musical talent and Olivia, Lucas and Sidney will represent FCSD well.”

While NYSSMA’s December Winter Conference in Rochester, N.Y., has been canceled, the Westbury-based organization will showcase the All-State ensemble performances as part of a larger 2020 Virtual All-State Concert.
