Welcome to Mrs. Galvin's Classroom
For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Julie Galvin and I will be your child’s 6:1:1 teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. I have been a Special Education Teacher for twenty-two fun filled years in and around New York State. My teaching experiences have been in pre-school, elementary and middle school age settings. The classrooms have ranged from self-contained classroom to inclusion school based programs.
Fulton is my hometown. I grew up here with my nine siblings, went to school at Lanigan Elementary and graduated from G.Ray Bodley High School. We have great schools! When I am not at school, I spend as much time as I can with my family. My husband and I have two children, Patrick (14) and Meghan (11). They are very active and love to play soccer, football, hockey, ice skating and Irish Dance. Both kids play instruments the bass and piano.
My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. I believe in hands-on experiences and learning creatively. I hope to make the academic year both an education and fun-filled year in our classroom. Furthermore, I feel that close communication between home and school is essential for success. Please feel free to contact me throughout the school year with any celebrations, concerns, suggestions, or questions. You can reach me at school (593-4611) or by email at email@example.com.

Parent Support Group
Each month Mrs. Galvin hosts a support group for both parents and teachers. It is a time where we all come together as a school community to discuss our childrens’ successes, strategies, concerns and questions. All meeting will be held in Mrs Galvin classroom. Meeting times will rotate to help accommodate working families. Look for meeting dates and times in your child folder at the beginning of each month. Hope to see you!
