Financial Aid Night set for May 24 at GRB

Fulton City School District juniors, seniors, and their parents will have an opportunity to learn more about college funding options during an upcoming Financial Aid Night.

The event, presented by the G. Ray Bodley High School Counseling Office, will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. May 24 in the high school auditorium. A representative from the financial aid office at the State University of New York at Oswego will present information about the types and sources of financial aid available to undergraduate students. Attendees will learn about the federal and state forms needed to apply to college, and informative handouts will be available.

According to the GRB counselors, Financial Aid Night provides a great opportunity for families to become acquainted with the various sources of financial assistance available. Counselors noted that the event is a great way for students and parents/guardians to better understand the application process and become familiar with key deadlines, which will assure the timely submission of appropriate forms and greatly enhance the probability of receiving financial aid.

“High school juniors and seniors, and their parents or guardians, should make a special point of attending to receive information about this important topic, but parents or students at any grade level are invited to attend to become acquainted with the process,” said GRB school counselor Matt Goodnough.
