Volney Students Show Perseverance

Students at Volney Elementary were recently honored during a school assembly for exhibiting perseverance during the month of March.
Principal Todd Terpening presented awards to 20 students after their teachers recognized them for never giving up on tasks or assignments in class. When asked what the definition of perseverance was, one student said it meant to “work through something, like … to work through the questions (on a test).”
Terpening presented the following students with Principal Award certificates for exhibiting perseverance: Destiny Fink, Aylonna Loveall, Cole DeBan, Rachael Moon, Declan Nickerson, Carleigh Richardson, Cassidy Maynard, Ryan O’Donnell, Gwendalyne Holleneck, Natalie Gulliver, Jacob Ingersoll, Alyssa Sawyer, Theodore Pederson, Amber Dumas, Zachary Ranieri, Shayla Sykes, Elle Lone, Amara Fischel, Naomi Roberts and Marc Olivadoti.
In addition to the character award winners, nearly two dozen students were recognized with On a Roll certificates for their commitment to improving behavior and academic goals. Those students were: Benjamin Naioti, Michael Herrald, Jayden Hamilton, Branden Gamer, Domanick Fisher, Kane Morey, Travis Pitcher, Nash Peterson, Camren Rothrock, Kyle Stuber, Kaleb Wise, Caleb Clark, Sawyer Clark, Carter Robillard, Nick Rusaw, Natalie Steele, Brodie Snyder, Jacob Wilson, Matt Miller, Noah Cordone and Samantha Ponzo.
