Friends of Rachel (FOR) club is a club committed to spreading kindness and compassion toward others. FOR club is an extension of Rachel’s Challenge, a program students participate in each year about Rachel Joy Scott and the Columbine tragedy. This club hopes to pass on Rachel’s legacy of being kind and compassionate to all people by being committed to helping others in school and in the community. This club meets bi-weekly and works on projects to improve the lives of the students in this school as well as others in the community. Projects that have been completed by FOR club include our “Snowvember” hat, scarf, and glove drive, SPCA animal donation drive, and our annual Valentine’s Day visit to Michaud Senior Center. Students in this club also work to improve the school climate by modeling positive attitudes and showing kindness and compassion to their classmates on a daily basis and through several mini-projects completed throughout the year.
