Fairgrieve Elementary Students Learn Fire Safety

Fulton Fire Department members Lt. Aaron Howard, Michelle Lacey and Paul Kinne recently reviewed fire safety tips with Fairgrieve Elementary students, in recognition of October as Fire Prevention Month.
During the school’s Morning Express program on Monday, October 19, Lt. Howard shared the following information during a short presentation:
  • Make sure smoke detectors in the home are properly working
  • Have a family plan for safety, in case of an emergency
  • If your clothes catch on fire remember to stop, drop and roll
“Why don’t you run if your clothes catch on fire?” Lt. Howard asked the crowd.
“Wind feeds the fire,” one student shouted.
Lt. Howard said the Fulton Fire Department offers community fire prevention presentations to help lessen local instances of fire.
