6th grade talent show at Granby Elementary

After years of hard work at Granby Elementary School, the building’s oldest students showcased their many abilities during the annual Sixth-Grade Talent Show.
From dancers to singers to comedians and instrumentalists, over two dozen sixth-graders performed in front of the entire student body, their teachers and Principal Heather Witter. After each act, the crowd generously applauded their work. Shawn Mauro beautifully played the piano to “Midnight” a song he wrote himself, while Emily Case danced to “I’m So Sorry,” complete with faux fur paws and a tail.
A few groups played their school musical instruments, but it was “The Fantastic Four” band who sang “Believer” by the popular band Imagine Dragons that got their peers to sing along. Kayleigh Griffis’ jump roping skills impressed the crowd, as did the final act: a comedic performance by Paityn Cali, Gaby Farnham, Nina Adkins and Chloe Mansfield. The latter four based their skit on a cooking show, and once Cali attempted to bake a pie, it shrank and then she was pied in the face by Adkins.
For the final curtain call, all performers paraded down the center aisle of the cafeteria where they were greeted by high-fives and thunderous applause. Music teacher Stephany Collins served as the show’s emcee.
