Seventh- and eighth-grade students at the Fulton Junior High School showed off their comedic, acting, singing and musical talent abilities during the inaugural FJHS Talent Show.
Thirteen brave acts took center stage to entertain the crowd in the school cafeteria. Co-hosts and FJHS students Reagan LaPage and Noah Cordone infused humor into the event with jokes and puns in between each act. Callum Smith kicked off the show by singing “Roar” by Katy Perry, and later sang an acapella version of “Lost Boy” by Ruth B. before classmate Hanna Miller joined him for a rendition of “Just Like Fire” by P!nk.
Other acts included Sutter Lewin on the cello, Victoria Wolfe sang “My Immortal” by Evanescence” and Madison Majeski sang “Just Give Me a Reason” by P!nk. Vera Butchko beautifully played the ukulele and sang to the tune “Creep” by Radiohead. Butchko and Majeski teamed up to perform “Praying” by Kesha.
Miller and Sarah Nichols sang “Titanium” by David Guetta, while Megan Acker sang “Freeze Your Brain” from “Heathers” the musical. Kelsey Caza sang “Someone Like You” by Adele, as she was joined by Bodley’s Got Talent winner and G. Ray Bodley High School student Alexis Barth on piano.
The hilarious duo of LaPage and Cordone also riled up the audience with a compilation of 90s hits.
FJHS Special Education Teacher Elizabeth Gardner said the show, which was run by the FJHS student council members, could become an annual event.
