Fulton teachers take part in OWI 2017

A few dozen Fulton City School District teachers recently attended the Oswego Writing Institute 2017 to learn current writing techniques to be more effective in their writing instruction. Several teachers also presented workshops, such as “Conferring with Young Writers,” “Teach the Writer,” Creating a Reading Response Journal with Read-Alouds,” and “Developing the Creative Writer,” among others. The school district has partnered with Team Sheldon at SUNY Oswego to host the annual event over the past few years. The professional development opportunity attracted educators from throughout Oswego County, surrounding counties and even China. FCSD’s own English Language arts coach Gina Salerno received a certificate for Outstanding Contributions in Writing and Literacy.
