Fairgrieve honors outstanding student citizens

The outstanding character of several Fairgrieve Elementary students was highlighted during a recent Morning Express program honoring them with the school’s Virtue of the Month award.
Twenty-six students were recognized by their teachers because they exhibited citizenship throughout the month of June. Their impressive behavior and commitment to responsibilities earned the students the special classroom honor.
For their efforts, the students received a “brag tag” to add to their collection, as well as praise and applause from their peers, guests and Fairgrieve staff members. Principal Jean Sampsell commended each recipient for being good role models and amazing school citizens.
All students and teachers were treated to the Fourth Grade Glee Club’s final performance of the 2016-2017 school year. The upbeat song “Upstanding Citizen” was dedicated to all fourth-grade teachers who helped support and encourage their students all year.
