Students earn effort awards at Volney Elementary


Volney Elementary students who have shown great effort academically or behaviorally throughout May were recently honored with the school’s Virtue of the Month Award.
 
All 20 recipients were nominated for the honor by their classroom teacher and received congratulatory remarks from Principal Todd Terpening. For their efforts, the students received a Principal’s Award and much praise and applause from teachers, classmates and guests during a school assembly.
 
Principal Terpening said each honoree has made the school a better place to learn and he looks forward to hearing more great things from the students in the future. He commended parents and guardians for encouraging and supporting students at home to help them achieve success at school. Principal Terpening also encouraged all Volney students to put forth their best effort through the end of the school year.
 
Awardees are: Deven Smith, Hayden Crofoot, Ava King, Nick Zufelt, Drew Fischel, Cadie Shepard, Henry Jerred, Kierra Fairbanks, Ayden Bigelow, Aryan Khera, Camren Rothrock, Jacob Crandall, Kyle Stuber, Audrey White, Preston Collett, Josh Curtis, Tyler Sherman, Jasmine Heywood, Amber Jackson and Evan Zimmerman.
 
Also honored during the assembly were students who were recognized by their teachers for making great strides in the classroom. Students who were “On a Roll” throughout the month of May are: Ayden Richards, Aaliyah Rothrock, Elizabeth Blake, Devin Catalone, Aurav Khera, Gianna Thurlow, Corban Becker, Chase Clarks, Declan Nickerson, Cadyn Reed, Claire Murray, Nazzerene Donalson, Alisha Foley, Natalie Gulliver, Caden James, Makenalyn Johnson, Jillian Calaman, Caiden Tabor, Rhyle Humphrey and MaKalib Wells.
