Positive behaviors, goals celebrated at Volney

Volney Elementary students who demonstrated their ability to control their emotions and behavioral expressions, particularly in difficult school situations, recently received the school’s Principal’s Award.

Principal Todd Terpening presented one student from each classroom with a certificate of recognition during a recent assembly because they exhibited self-control, Volney’s virtue of the month for April. He said each recipient has proven that just one person can make a difference and commended them for being classroom role models.

Awardees include:  Heath Turner, Sophie Brewster, Lacey McClure, Isabella Wood, Brooke Bowering, Gracyn Cantine, Jose Vosseller, Travis Pitcher, Aiden Grant, Julian Graziano, Nazzerene Donalson, Cassie Clarke, Gracie Parry, Collin Cunningham, Keira Scott, Amber Dumas, Nasir Noel, Caitlan Roberts and Kyle Crutchley.

Also recognized were several students who were “On a Roll” throughout the month of April. Principal Terpening presented that group of students with certificates of recognition for working toward, or achieving, an academic and/or social goal.

“On a Roll” honorees include: Brayden Ives, Moira Grant, Marcus Collar, Aryana Cary, David Tompkins, Jr., Kash Stuber, Josie Smith, Kollin Hollenbeck, Armando Vosseller, Brett Reakes, Khloe Bergman, Dominick Vosseller, Brice Clemons, Riley Nalle, Zayne Williamson, Sawyer Clark, Xavier Contois, Zachary Watkins and Kelly Hayden.

Principal Terpening encouraged all Volney students to talk to their teachers and parents about setting goals for the fourth quarter so they, too, may receive an award in May or June.
