GRB student shines in all-state band

Keegan Wallace, a student at G. Ray Bodley High School, has been named one of the best musicians in the state.

Wallace was selected to perform alongside several top high school students in the recent New York State School Music Association’s All-State Symphonic Band. Prior to the event, Wallace scored a 99 on his difficult NYSSMA solo during the 2015-2016 school year.

After two days of rehearsal at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, Wallace joined his fellow All-State Symphonic Band members as they played “Storm and Sunshine,” “Castle Creek Overture,” “Intermezzo,” “Break Forth oh Beautrice Heavenly Light” and “Luminesance.”

“All-State was a terrific experience for him and a great performance was given by the ensemble,” said Terry Caviness, GRB director of bands. “Keegan is an outstanding musician and we look forward to great things from him in the future.”
