Granby parents enjoy lunch and learn sessions

Granby Elementary School seeks to improve school-to-home communication through Lunch and Learn sessions.

At each grade-level event, parents are invited to have lunch with their child and then learn more from teachers on how they can work together to help students continue to succeed academically and behaviorally.

During the short program, parents gain a greater insight of core curriculum standards and are encouraged by teachers to engage students in learning at home. During the recent fifth-grade Lunch and Learn, teachers provided a look-ahead for the second academic quarter: fractions, increased writing opportunities, Earth cycles and Latin American culture.
