Homework Policy:
The district policy is that students should have no more than 10 minutes of homework per grade level. Therefore, expect your child to have about 40 minutes of homework each night.  Homework is practice. Students will not be given homework on skills that they are not beginning to master.
Homework is sent home Monday through Thursday in ELA and Math in addition to monthly reading log. Your child should work on each area no more than 15 minutes. If your child has not finished after 15 minutes, draw a line on the assignment. That will help me understand your childs progress toward mastery.

Students should read a minimum of 20 minutes each day. They should be reading text at their independent level. Regular reading practice is the 

The amount of  reading done outside is  found to increase achievement in vocabulary, reading comprehension and fluency. Students’ reading achievement increases with  amount of independent reading they do.
